The Trumpian technique
« Reply #15 on: January 27, 2020, 01:37:35 pm »
Well said, Surly. 👍

Trump's spirited baloney about "defending" people's "2nd Amendment rights"  is a deliberate distraction worthy of the most cynical Soviet Union style propaganda efforts. It is an intrinsic part of the Orwellian method used to convince people you are ruthlesly exploiting that you are their "best friend and protector".

😈 Trump knows the police and military can machine gun mow down any of these AR-15 toting MAGA suckers any time the police state considers them a "Brown Shirt nuisance" (SEE: what Hitler did ☠️ to his very well armed Brown Shirt supporters). The MAGA gun toting crowd are being used by Trump for Trump, period. Anyone believing Trump gives a rat's ass about Constitutionally protected rights and/or freedoms for anyone not part of the wealthy parasitical class is worthy of pity.

You know, I'm not sure whether the big corporate move to rebrand corporate malfeasance as "principled behavior" began in the 1980's or earlier, but this Orwellian method of deliberate brazen mindfuck, boldly pushed in order to overcome any pesky obstacles to 'business as usual', certainly became the norm during the Reagan asssault on logic, common sense, common decency and the Constitutionally Mandated Government Obligation to provide for the welfare of we-the-people.

It is true that Newt Gingrich with his "Never admit fault, never back down, but instead double down" fascistoid mantra came a decade or so later, but the pattern for this Government level legerdemain seemed to have been set during the Reagan years.

The ironic thing about this Orwellian method is that, even as the Soviet Union, infamous for its "everything is just peachy" pitch to the downtrodden in slave labor jobs, dissolved, the U.S. was embracing this government legitimacy destroying technique. The corporate leaders in the U.S., sometime during the 1980s, had already decided that if their abusive behavior was becoming public, the "solution" was to hire an ad agency to do some perception management, rather than stop the abusive practices that provided handsome profits (over people and planet).

The Trumpian technique is the latest iteration of this CRAP. It destroyed the Soviet Union. It is well on the way to destroying the United States.

But, due to Catastrophic Climate change, there are bigger stakes here.

As with you and Greta, I do not expect an embrace of logic, truth, common sense and common decency any time soon.

Rob not the poor, because he is poor: neither oppress the afflicted in the gate:
For the Lord will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them. Pr. 22:22-23
