If he doesn’t go to–if he not only doesn’t go to prison, but he also gets another job in another administration, what else are people supposed to think, like Dr. Giroux said, in a country where politics follows culture, and our culture is so bereft of actual real, clear understanding of justice and equality?

This is yet another reference that I have read to the phenomenon that pins the rise of Trump to Obama's failure to bring the banksters to justice, one of the most significant failures of his presidency. It makes sense; the sense of a two-tiered system of money and justice, driven home hard, leading to the sense of, "I'm going to voite to bring the whole goddam thing down."

As you know, I really enjoy things like this, but for the many truths in there, it's a lot of pipe dreams and happy talk until the Ds put together a campaign, a candidate and a strategy and put together the volunteers for the miserable, thankless slog known as the ground game. Because 2020 the Ds will be up against not only the Rs but their major donors, the banksters, the extractive industries, and the Russians. I assume nothing.
