Following the impeachment vote, Pelosi said she would withhold the articles of impeachment until the Senate makes rules that she determines will be fair to the prosecution.

Nancy Pelosi: "We have 🦅 legislation approved...that will enable to decide how we send over the articles of impeachment."

Pelosi made it real clear that she is not going to play 😈 McConnell's corrupt 'quick Trump Acquittal for a Trump victory lap' game. The 🐘 Republicans spent the entire final impeachment discussion wailing and moaning about "the waste of time the impeachment inquiry was and they should all be working to pass legislation for the American People, for which they were all elected to work for and serve".  Well, that was a bold faced lie of the most craven, despicably dishonest, sort, it being that McConnell BRAGS about NOT allowing Bills (that DO serve the interests of the American People, but endanger campaign funding legal bribes for him and the rest of the Republican lackeys of 👹🎩 American Oligarchs) passed by the House to come to the floor of the Senate.

So, Pelosi. quite well versed in U.S. (in house) quid pro quo political hardball, is now throwing their disingenuous argument in their faces to show how ideologically committed those 🐘 elite lackey bastards are to OPPOSING any and all legislation that benefits the American people for which they were elected to serve. Good for her.

Agelbert NOTE: Keep watching Fox News, and you will never be told any of the above hard truths about who is REALLY hurting your pocketbook and your future. Keep watching Fox News and you will keep being SUCKERED out of house, home, job and health by the American Oligarchs that OWN the Republicans (and a significant amount of Democrats), Fox News and most, if not all, of the Mainstream Media. For your own good, and that of your loved ones, . If you think I am just some librul talking "commie socialist" baloney, ask yourself HOW MANY of the BIPARTISAN BILLS passed by the House of Representatives, but BLOCKED by Senator Mitch McConnell, were you informed of by FOX NEWS? Yeah, FOX News does human interest stories and lots of feel good stuff to tell you how "great" things are and how "wonderful" a person you are for watching them. It's what they DO to SUCKER YOU! While they are making you feel warm and fuzzy on the one hand, they are making sure you get economically fleeced by those who want to take ALL your freedoms away on the other, all the while making sure you blame all those "libruls" for your economic problems. Stop believing their clever mix of happy talk and carefully (fascist propaganda) orchestrated demonization of socially beneficial legislation (and those who foster it).

They have a plan to enslave all Americans not belonging to the Oligarchic 👹🎩 elite planet eaters. Study the following list and ask yourself WHY didn't you get ANY news on these 📢 BIPARTISAN legislative efforts to HELP YOU AND YOURS from Fox and Friends (See: Orwell).

In Senator 🐘 Mitch McConnell’s Legislative Graveyard , Senate Republicans Block Commonsense Legislation To Secure Our Elections, Protect Americans’ Health Care, And Safeguard Pensions Earned By Working Americans

November 5, 2019

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans have turned the Senate into a legislative graveyard, refusing to take action on critical legislation that already has bipartisan support. More than 250 House-passed bills are buried in Leader McConnell’s legislative graveyard, and that number continues to grow.

Republicans have kept the Senate at a standstill while urgently needed bills to protect our elections against the threat of foreign interference, protect Americans’ health care, shield survivors of domestic abuse, and meaningfully address the gun violence epidemic languish in Leader McConnell’s legislative graveyard,” said Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer. “Senate Republicans need to remember why they came to the Senate in the first place, make a U-turn, and allow the Senate to work for the people.”

On the Senate floor, Republicans have repeatedly blocked legislation to secure our elections, protect Americans’ health care, support workers, and take action on climate change. And Leader McConnell is refusing to allow the Senate to debate critical issues like universal background checks and prescription drug pricing. Democrats are ready to tackle these challenges and get to work for the American people. It’s time for Leader McConnell to stop standing in the way, because Americans deserve a Senate that is working for them.

SEE LIST OF REPUBLICAN BLOCKED LEGISLATION as of November 5, 2019 (there's more since then):

LEADER McCONNELL HAS PROUDLY PROCLAIMED HIMSELF THE “GRIM REAPER” FOR 🦅 LEGISLATION TO HELP  THE MIDDLE CLASS:

“Donald Trump still in the White House, and as long as I'm 🐘 Majority Leader of the Senate, I get to set the agenda, that's why I call myself the Grim Reaper.” [Fox News Hannity, 5/9/19]

“🐘 If I'm still the majority leader of the Senate, think of me as the Grim Reaper. None of that stuff is going to pass. None of it. 😈 [Remarks in Owensboro, KY via CNN, 4/22/19]

The House speaker is unmoved by McConnell’s BULLSHIT claim that she’s stalling for time. McConnell is desperately trying to NOT talk about all the BIPARTISAN legislation passed by the House that he is 😈 BLOCKING, so he tries to bum rush Pelosi.

Pelosi let McConnell have it with both barrels (see quote below). Good for her!

The mad Republican agenda goes fully off the rails

Robert Harrington | 10:30 am EST December 20, 2019
Palmer Report » Analysis

“The impeachment serves two purposes,” Texas Republican Representative Louie Gohmert said during Wednesday’s hearing to impeach Donald Trump, “Number one, stop the investigation by the US Department of Justice and the Ukraine into the corruption of Ukraine interference into the election of 2016.” While he didn’t exactly say what number two is, Gohmert did proceed to ramble his desultory way through a number of additional crack-brained Kremlin talking points, including why it was all Hillary’s and Obama’s fault.

When Gohmert finally ran out of things to quote Vladimir Putin about, New York Democratic Representative Jerry Nadler stood up and said, “I am deeply concerned that any member of the House would spout Russian propaganda on the floor of the House.” Gohmert tried to shout his way back to the podium but was gavelled down from his attempted pearl-clutching retort. Gohmert’s fury was provoked because Nadler dared to suggest that Gohmert was spouting Russian propaganda when all Gohmert was doing was spouting Russian propaganda.

In case you missed it, the Russian propaganda that Representative Nadler is referring to is the brainchild of Vladimir Putin himself, one he has vocalized in at least one interview. It has all the usual ingredients of a conspiracy theory, including the casting of a suspicious shadow over a perfectly innocent event. After Russia invaded the Ukrainian Crimea peninsula in 2014, in 2016 then presidential candidate 🦀 Trump suggested that Crimea really did belong to Russia after all and they were within their rights to take it back. Ukrainian ambassador 🦅 Valeriy Chaly understandably took exception to this viewpoint, and calmly and rationally explained the reasons for his exception-taking in an editorial published by The Hill on August 4, 2016. Chaly illuminated why such a position went in direct opposition to the United Nations’ condemnation of Russia’s actions, and even pointed out that Trump was at odds with the Republican Party itself for adopting such an ill-advised policy. Chaly wasn’t alone in this viewpoint, either, members of the 🐘 Republican 👀 Party, Mexico, Ecuador, France, Israel and some 60 other nations joined Ukraine in condemning candidate Trump’s 🙈🙉🙊 soft-on-Russia position.

Republicans don’t want you to know this, of course. Some Republicans like Louie Gohmert only want you to think that Ukraine interfered in the 2016 election using specific means they are too busy shouting about to explain in detail. Ambassador Chaly would have been in dereliction of duty had he not protested Trump’s position – and protested it vigorously. I am actually in awe of the restraint Chaly displayed. If you read the op-ed in full, it is written more as a plea for candidate Trump to change his mind than what it quite reasonably could have been, proof of yet another ineptitude demonstrating why 🦀 Donald Trump wasn’t fit to be president of his local Rotary Club, let alone of the United States of America.

Meanwhile, as far as I am able to determine, thirty five million dollars is still owed to Ukraine. Donald 🦀 Trump, vindictive to the last, the embodiment of pettiness true to form, is still withholding the final tally of Congressionally-allocated aid to Ukraine because Ukraine never did announce an investigation into the Bidens. With Rudy Giuliani just back from Ukraine with more manufactured dirt on the Bidens compliments of the corrupt ex-Ukrainian prosecutor in exile, Trump is demonstrating that not even impeachment for attempting to enlist foreign nations for assistance in interfering in the 2020 election will slow him down from attempting to enlist foreign nations for assistance in interfering in the 2020 election.

Where do I start...

I am currently reading "Crime in Progress" by Simpson and his partner Fritsch. Yes, they did oppo research for a 🐘 Republican client. They saw Trump had done business with Russia, all of the court documents, and other sources in USA pointed to Trumps association w Russia, but it went deeper than just business, so they contacted Chis Steele who had been the Russian expert at MI6. Fusion was relying on his years of being an agent in Russia for Britain, to find the truth.

It was McCain who gave it to FBI first. Steele met with FBI in Rome in conjunction with their investigation called Operation Crossfire, his dossier was very relevant to their investigation. National Security was at risk. It wasn't reported out at that time, although when Obama and FBI chief became involved, it was 😈 McConnell who refused to allow the Trump/Russian matter to be announced, blame him in part for Trump presidency, which was engineered by the Russians with Chinese help, and GOP voter suppression/gerrymandering ways to maneuver the Trump-GOP win.

The Steele dossier was secret Fusion thought until Carl Bernstein alerted them that he had seen a copy of it (after the election) via David Kramer, John McCain's long time advisor. By that time neither Simpson nor Fritsch could control the outing of the dossier. Isikoff met with Steele and checked his bona fides and then contacted senior law enforcement official who confirmed the FBI investigation, that's why it was finally published the story.

There is a ton more but get the book, it's worth reading.

All the President's Russian Influence origin story
November 26, 2019
Format: Hardcover

What the book is: an All The President's Men-style whodunnit. The origins (they were hired by 🐘 conservative Republicans) to research the business dealings of Trump. What they found: evidence of organized crime and Russian business dealings. What happened to them as they investigated the real ties between Trump and Russian individuals and the government: smears and attacks at the hands of pro-Trump forces in Congress led by the White House.

What it isn't: a polemic attack on Trump. It's important to remember Fritsch and Simpson, former Wall Street Journal editor and writer, have a long history of being a pain in the ass for everyone from foreign dictators, Al-Qaeda, and even Democrats like Bill and Hillary Clinton. The tired trope they are Democratic opposition researchers is wrong and this book shows why.

They're also about to push the BS narrative that Trump really wasn't impeached unless the Senate has its 'trial.' ID: that the impeachment doesn't actually count unless it goes to the Senate.

Which is bollocks. Regardless of Moscow Mitch’s facile attempt to insult/goad Pelosi into releasing the articles to the House for his pre-judged trial, this is baseless since there is NO legal or constitutional requirement for the House to formally present the articles to the Senate, or any time-frame for such an action like a best-before admonition on a dairy product. None.

Impeachment is an indictment. Only the Senate can remove the president via conviction by trial. It is a formal accusation of a criminal act or acts, and is also a condemnation of that act.

In the case of the House impeachment, it is both. It is the first necessary step to proceed to trial. That trial is NOT necessary for the impeachment indictment to stand as a legally valid statement.

And it’s not simply an accusation per ce. An indictment must be backed by probative evidence which the House indictment has. Once an individual is impeached, they must then face the possibility of conviction on the charges by a legislative vote, which is separate from the impeachment, but flows FROM it, and a judgment which convicts the official on the articles of impeachment entails the official's definitive removal from office. Therefore, the impeachment is a separate legal entity whose validity does not depend on the Senate holding a trial – it is simply a precursor to the latter.

To deny the validity of the impeachment is the equivalent of saying that when you are indicted for a crime, the indictment is not valid until you are actually tried and convicted in a court of law. An indictment in civil law usually requires a preliminary hearing to judge the probity of the evidence before binding over to trial. Impeachment trials’ procedures are not set by civil law.

Harvard Law Professor Tribe said the House had the right to hold the articles. “Senate rules requiring the House to ‘immediately’ present its articles of impeachment to the Senate clearly violate the constitutional clause in Article I giving each house the sole power to make its own rules. It’s up to the House when and how to prosecute its case in the Senate.”

Senate rules are made BY the Senate, and apply only TO the Senate. They do not impinge on the House.

Suck it, Mitch ...

Trump Doesn’t Want Voters to Know How Much His Family’s Trips Cost Taxpayers

By Matt Stieb

Though the president’s displays of ostentatious wealth didn’t hurt his electoral prospects last time around, the administration is reportedly worried about the public response if voters learn just how much taxpayers are putting up for Trump family vacations and travel. According to the Washington Post, the administration is attempting to delay House Democrats’ efforts to reveal the Secret Service budget until after the 2020 election, in part so that voters do not learn how much they are spending on Trump trips.

The attempt to delay the release involves a bill drafted in part by Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin bringing the Secret Service under his department’s purview, where it was housed from its foundation in 1865 until 2003, when the agency was enveloped by the Department of Homeland Security. As part of the proposed bill, Democrats would require that the Secret Service release how much it costs to protect Trump family travel within 120 days of its passage. 😈 Mnuchin is reportedly onboard for the reporting of travel expenses, but only if the practice begins in 2021.

Though Trump promised during the campaign that he would “rarely leave the White House,” he has spent 114 days at his home in Mar-a-Lago and 75 days at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey. Full records of Secret Service spending are unavailable, but individual costs detailed over the years offer a glimpse of how much the agency is spending to protect our leisurely president — and why the administration might not want the details publicized in an election year.

In his first four trips to Mar-a-Lago in 2017, the Secret Service alone spent about $1.3 million on each visit. Just renting enough golf carts to follow the president — without hampering his ability to cheat on the green — has cost $588,000 since 2017, according to federal spending data available online. The Secret Service has also had to put taxpayer money directly into Trump’s pocket, spending at least $250,000 at Trump properties in the first five months of his term. For just one month in 2017, Trump’s travel costs totaled $13.6 million, including expenditures by the Secret Service, the Department of Defense, and the cost of renting space and equipment. As the Post notes: “Trump has made 22 more trips to Mar-a-Lago since then … If the Secret Service’s costs remained constant, that would mean more than $28 million in further spending by the Secret Service alone, and $75 million from the government in all — and just on a fraction of Trump’s total travel.” In contrast, and flouting Trump’s impression of his predecessor, the government reportedly spent around $96 million on travel for Obama over eight years. Less than two months into Trump’s term, the Secret Service asked Congress for a budget boost of $60 million to manage presidential travel.

Trump’s family, too, has proven to be a serious expense for the agency. As the Post notes: “Since their father was elected, Trump’s sons Eric and Donald Jr. have made business trips to overseas locales including Ireland, Scotland, Dubai, Uruguay, and India. In 2017, Eric Trump’s visit to a Trump building under construction in Uruguay cost taxpayers $97,000.” Last September, the Secret Service also put in a bid to buy Jet Skis, so that federal agents could protect the Trump family off the shore of Mar-a-Lago.
