I stayed up late into the night reading the Mueller report. The facts are clear: A hostile foreign government attacked our 2016 election to help Donald Trump—and Donald Trump welcomed that help. Once elected, he obstructed the investigation into that attack. #WarrenTownHall

You know, it is getting easier and easier to translate Trumpspeak. That grifter is now locked into psychological projection mode.

🦀 Trump is an affront to the people of Mississippi (in addition to just about every other principled human AND every other non-extremophile living thing on planet Earth).

That said, the extremophiles, if they were self-aware, would certainly be cheering that biosphere destroying bastard on.

Tardigrades for Trump!

The article from The Atlantic is, though not apparent from its claim of "concern" for the lack of unity among the American populace due to the Impeachment Hearings, is part a craven effort to defend a corrupt CAPITALIST status quo destroying our government and our environment. 🤬

YEAH, when a fellow American supports a grifter POTUS that is trying to rob, cheat and kill you, it is customary to not be real happy about that. I am sick to death of these clever bastards coming up with new and better ways to tell everyone that steamroller going over them is "no big deal".

NEWS FLASH for EMMA GREEN of The Atlantic: There will BE NO COUNTRY for pundits to voice "disunity" pearl clutching pseudo-liberal concerns about if Trump is not Impeached. Kumbaya support groups to "foster community and get Americans to stop hating each other" will not do ZIP to stop TRUMP'S HATE FUELING 24/7 RAMPAGE! Suspicions of the other side by the Republicans are CONSISTENTLY based on LIES. Suspicions of the other side by Democrats have ALWAYS been based on PROOF of Corruption by Republicans and are now MORE WARRANTED THAN EVER!

🦀 Trump threatens Whistleblower!

November 3, 2019

SNIPPET:

Donald Trump’s reaction this morning can only be described as even weirder than usual. One minute he’s idiotically ranting about how California must rake the forest floor to stop the wildfires (this time using the word “clean” instead of the word “rake”). The next minute he’s insisting there will be “hell to pay”  if he finds out who the whistleblower is.  That threat alone is a severe enough felony to send 🦀 Trump to prison for the rest of his natural life once this is over.

🐘 GOP goes completely off the rails

BD Holly | 1:30 pm EST November 3, 2019
Palmer Report » Analysis

This past week, the House voted for impeachment procedures going forward. Naturally, the vote was almost entirely along party lines, with nearly every Democrat voting for, and every Republican voting against. In essence, the Republican opposition to this vote was entirely symbolic. The vote wasn’t whether to hold impeachment proceedings, merely what procedures will be used to go about the impeachment proceedings. Voting against it was pointless — indeed, the procedures passed are pretty friendly to Republicans and encourage bipartisan inquiry—but it does say a lot about the party that they voted this way, and it serves as a reminder why we should all be disgusted with them.

Trump is plainly guilty. Don’t take my word for it; ask the big orange man himself. He’s admitted on camera to a number of the crimes he’s committed. This whole situation is odd, considering we learned about the crime before we learned about the evidence to the crime, but this does go to show that there isn’t any doubt as to the existence of the crimes. Republicans haven’t even been defending Trump on the substance of the crimes because, naturally, that’s impossible. They’ve resorted to attacking the Democrats’ process in the inquiry, and in the case of Representative Matt Gaetz’s galaxy brain idea to storm closed-door proceedings, almost literally attacking the Democrats’ process.

In doing all this, the Republicans make their allegiances clear, and they’re not to the American people. They’re not to America, either. The nation’s best interest, her people included, would be to impeach and remove Trump. He’s the orange melanoma on Lady Liberty’s shoulder. But they won’t do it. Monied interests have bored into the bedrock of the Republican party so deep, that they’d do anything. And indeed they are.

They’re letting their nation risk dissolution at the hands of a man who cares more about pleasing dictators than feeding the homeless and vulnerable in his own nation. This isn’t an ethical lapse by Republicans so much as it is a dereliction of humanity. They don’t care about us at all. This is why we should all be disgusted by them.

Until we get dark money out of politics, this situation will only get worse. I fear that Republicans are so bought, that this will never change as long as they have meaningful say in anything in the government.

Impeachment transcript reveals Donald Trump’s psychotic plot against 🦅 U.S. Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch

Bill Palmer | 3:10 pm EST November 4, 2019
Palmer Report » Analysis

Donald Trump received some terrible news this morning when the U.S. Court of Appeals ruled that an accounting firm must turn over Trump’s tax returns to the New York grand jury that’s in the process of indicting him on state charges. Then Trump received equally ugly news when the House impeachment inquiry publicly released the first batch of testimony transcripts, including that of former U.S. Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch.

Suffice it to say that what Donald Trump did to Marie Yovanovitch is nothing short of psychotic. Yovanovitch says she was told that when she was being recalled as U.S. Ambassador, she had to immediately leave Ukraine because her “security” was in danger, though the Trump regime refused to expand on what this was supposed to mean. Secretary of State 😈 Mike Pompeo then told her that he was “no longer” able to protect her from Donald Trump, another mafia-like threat against her safety. When Yovanovitch asked 😈 Gordon Sondland what she should do, he suggested tweeting something nice about Trump.

This provides a whole new context for Donald Trump’s remark to Ukrainian President Zelensky that Yovanovitch was “going to go through some things” after he had already removed her from the job. Not only did Trump fire her and threaten her security, he then vowed to punish her further. What’s remarkable is that Yovanovitch’s only sin was that she wasn’t corrupt, and she was therefore standing in the way of the criminal corruption plot that 😈 Trump and 😈 Rudy Giuliani were hatching in Ukraine to try to rig the 2020 U.S. election.

Let’s be clear here: this is the President of the United States threatening the safety of a U.S. Ambassador, and telling a foreign leader that he intended to harass her. It’s not just impeachable, it’s an imprisonable offense. When this is over, Trump’s psychotic threats against Marie Yovanovitch will be one of the things he’s criminally indicted for. This is yet another reminder that once Trump goes to prison, he’ll never, ever get out.

The 🦅 whistleblower just called 🦀 Donald Trump’s bluff
Bill Palmer | 6:00 pm EST November 3, 2019
Palmer Report » Analysis

The original whistleblower complaint in Donald Trump’s Ukraine scandal has since resulted in thirteen (and counting) of Trump’s own current and former people having come forward to testify against him in the House impeachment inquiry. This means the whistleblower has become irrelevant, as his or her claims have now been corroborated over and over again.

But that hasn’t stopped Donald Trump and his allies from making increasingly absurd claims about the whistleblower, in a last ditch attempt at creating controversy where none exists. Trump keeps tweeting that the whistleblower has vanished, or that the whistleblower was “picked” by Adam Schiff, or that the whistleblower is Adam Schiff. Some of the worst of Trump’s bottom-feeding surrogates have made up even more deranged things, all while claiming it’s somehow scandalous that the whistleblower is still in the shadows.

Now the whistleblower is officially calling Donald Trump’s bluff. Mark Zaid, a lawyer representing the whistleblower, tweeted today that the whistleblower is willing to answer written questions from Trump’s Republican allies on the House Intel Committee. This show of good faith on the part of the whistleblower will serve to back Trump and his allies into a corner.

If Donald Trump and his House GOP allies take the whistleblower up on his/her offer and agree to submit questions in writing, it’ll mean they can no longer make the case that the whistleblower is hiding from them. If they refuse to work with the whistleblower on this, then they can no longer make the case that they’re legitimately seeking information from the whistleblower. Either way, Trump loses.

Organized Crime Family Values - the new 🐘 Republican Party

Parnas and Fruman, both American citizens born in the former Soviet Union, aren’t ordinary political operatives. Parnas has long been a low-level grifter. Fruman owns an Odessa beach club called Mafia Rave, and a joint investigation by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project and BuzzFeed News found ties between him and an Odessa organized crime figure named Volodymyr Galanternik, known as “Light Bulb.”

The duo first appeared on the American political scene in 2015 as enthusiastic supporters of Donald Trump. They became big-dollar donors to a number of Republicans; their Instagram accounts would soon fill up with photos of party elites. Then, this year, McCallion learned they were poking around Ukrainian politics, where they were spreading conspiracy theories that Ukraine, not Russia, had interfered in America’s election in 2016.

Gordon Sondland just formally revised his House impeachment testimony – and it’s devastating to Donald Trump
Bill Palmer | 2:14 pm EST November 5, 2019
Palmer Report » Analysis

Today we saw the second round of House impeachment inquiry transcripts released, this time involving U.S. Ambassador Gordon Sondland. We knew this would be an interesting one, due to the sheer amount of controversy surrounding Sondland’s testimony. Now it turns out Sondland went back and revised his initial testimony, and let’s just say that it’s not good news for Donald Trump.

Gordon Sondland originally testified that he wasn’t aware of any quid pro quo at the time he was interacting with Ukraine officials, and that no one in the Trump administration had told him about what was going on. But several subsequent witnesses have since testified that not only did Sondland know about Trump’s quid pro quo, he was the ringleader behind it. This led multiple House Democrats to publicly accuse Sondland of perjury, which could have resulted in felony charges against Sondland once Trump is gone.

This apparently scared Gordon Sondland straight, because the New York Times is now reporting that Sondland went back and provided the House impeachment inquiry with four pages of revised testimony this week, in which he confirms that Donald Trump was running a quid pro quo, and admits to his own role in carrying it out.

This is huge, because while Gordon Sondland’s original testimony was bad enough for Donald Trump in its own right, his revised testimony is far worse for Trump. It looks like Sondland wasn’t willing to bet his future on Trump pardon that was never going to arrive anyway, and he’s instead seeking to make amends with the House. Instead Sondland’s testimony could end up helping to send Trump to prison when this is all said and done.

Not so fast, AG and Bill. If you watch the eager, craven lickspittles of the Freedumb Caucus, as epitomized by the McCarthys and Jim Jordans of the world, you'll see that their coming defense of Trump will be entirely fact free. Bill makes the mistake of thinking that the upcoming Senate trial will be about evidence. With the facts and the law against them, the R's will pound the table and say that none of it matters because, as Nixon averred, "if the president does it it's not illegal."

The Rs also realize that the only jury that matters is the jury of public opinion. That will have to translate into pressure on red-state Senators who would be obliged to vote to convict. Last night's electoral results may give some of them pause. If I were a Dem strategist for the 2020 Senate races, I'd be hanging the #TeamTreason moniker around the neck of any R who voted to acquit.

As I said in the article I wrote (and posted here somewhere), the coming battle will be fought on TV. Only if Rs hear from their constituents will they waver. And according to recent polls, nearly 60 percent of Rs say there is NOTHING Trump could do to lose their support.

Point taken. But let us get totally real here. There is a method to the  🐘 Fascists 'R' US "madness". The very same sophist bullshit artists would vote to Impeach (AND remove from office AND Imprison) a Democratic POTUS that engaged in even 5% of Trump and his Wrecking Crew's Impeachable crimes. So, you know they never did believe the Nixonian "if the POTUS does it, it's all good" koolaid.

Their embrace of selectively unethical behavior is pure game theory. It is a calculation based on what they must do to dance with those who brung them (i.e. the American Fascist Oligarchs!). They don't give a tinker's damn what the mass of the voters want. They took care of THAT particular "problem" when they corrupted the low population states into being "red" states.

If you look at the map of the Congressional Representatives that favor impeachment (229, over half of the 435 total, barely makes a dent on the total map!), you get an excellent idea of how the low population states have been 🐘 gamed AGAINST the best interests of the population, especially when you consider the totally corrupt 🐘 Senators from the low population states (Vermont is the only good guy there):

So, unless the oligarchs tell these 🐘 consciense free lackey Senators to do otherwise, they will certainly vote, as you stated, to acquit Trump.

Yeah, I know Palmer has cited, in addition to the above testimony, the Appeals Court Decison (and the real possibility that SCOTUS will refuse to hear the Trump appeal) as a rational basis for claiming Trump is toast. I began my reasoning there, but added the impact of that on the future plans of TPTB (i.e. American Fascist Oligarchs).

You and I share in the cynicism about Republican Senators. You think that those lackeys will only vote to impeach if sufficient public pressure is placed on them. I do not think any of those bastards respond to public pressure.

BUT, the fascist oligarchs, to a certain degree, DO respond to the high probablity of a certain kind of public pressure. They do not want chaos to erupt in the USA.

The claim by the Republicans that impeaching Trump "will cause Chaos" is pure Orwellian BULLSHIT. They have it exactly backwards. NOT 💣 impeaching Trump is pure explosive 💥 dynamite. I am convinced that the American Oligarchs do not want that. Maybe they do, and I am wrong, but revolutions are bad for business. Also, the oligarchs get a bright read bullseye painted on them during revolutions. EVERYBODY knows where all the most extravagant mansions are, if you know what I mean.

And that is why, after reading  that Palmer post, I came to conclusion that Trump really is toast, but not for the same reasons that Palmer voiced.

Surly, you and I have discussed democracy and the lack of it in the USA for several years now. We generally agree that the USA is becoming less democratic, not more. The corollary to less democracy is more oligarchic say in politics, is it not?

The American Fascist Oligarchs are the ONLY "constituency" that Republican Senators listen respectfully to.

The American Fascist Oligarchs will be the ones who put Trump in the toaster, not "pressure from the voters". To the Oligarchs, the highest unethical fine fellows on the Fascist totem pole (i.e. the oligarchs) have game theory priority. It is not personal, it's just pure and unadulterated Oligarchic "😈 enlightened self interest".
