Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men. For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up. In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.

For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled. Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance. For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told.

The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath.

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

Return, O Lord, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants. O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil.

Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children. And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it --
Psalm 90 (KJV)

Psalm 119, with 176 verses, is the longest psalm and also the longest chapter in the bible. Each character of the Hebrew Alphabet predecedes a verse in each section of eight verses. "TZADDI" () is spelled "TZADE" in modern Hebrew.

The letter TZADE is a symbol of righteousness, and represents the number ninety in the numerical system of the Hebrew alphabet. The TZADE comes in two forms, the longest of the pair used only as the final letter in words. TZADE means ‘righteous’ in Hebrew. Humans can also be referred to as TZADE. The term is applied to those who are completely devoted to the service of God. TZADE pertains to the word tzedakkah, meaning ‘charity’. The giving of charity is amongst the most important of commandments in Judaism. The letter TZADE emphasises the significance of humility and loyalty in Judaism.

Psalm 119 137-144 King James Version (KJV)

137 Righteous art thou, O LORD, and upright are thy judgments.

138 Thy testimonies that thou hast commanded are righteous and very faithful.

139 My zeal hath consumed me, because mine enemies have forgotten thy words.

140 Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.

141 I am small and despised: yet do not I forget thy precepts.

142 Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.

143 Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me: yet thy commandments are my delights.

144 The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting: give me understanding, and I shall live.

FOR OUR DEAF FRIENDS

We have some good friends who are deaf. They have a hard time reading normal English. So this is for them. Simple English which works with sign language -- so the sentences can be signed and the sign will show the correct meaning.   For people who know normal English, the writing will seem strange. But for people who use sign language to communicate, it will be easier to understand the meaning.  We will add to this page when I have time to change more things to simple English.  If you have a special question or request, please email us at bhs4light@charter.net

Make sure you put the words “deaf request” in the title so we will not think it is junk email!  Thank you and God bless you all.

Agelbert NOTE: Read carefully what this wise person ✨ has to say. Though physically deaf, this Christian hears 🕊 God better than most people.

Who Nicolaitians?

In Revelation we read Christ hates what Nicolaitians do. Who were Nicolaitians and what they do?

Two possible answers.

1. If you separate word "nicolaitian," two words combined: nicos and laity. "Nicos" means, in Greek, 'ruler.' "Laity" means normal people in church. Not leaders. In Matthew 20:25-28, Jesus tells His disciples [simple English]: "You know Gentile rulers boss them. And Gentile rulers have authority over rulers themselves. Other high authorities boss rulers. You must be different. If you want become great, first you must become servant. If you want to be first, you must become slave. Son of Man same. He did not come so people serve Him. No. He came so He can serve. He gives His life to rescue many people."

But look at most church leaders! They are bossy. They like to make rules and tell others -- laity -- "you must obey."

When I first learned sign language, Heloise, my teacher, informed me how much deaf hate, hate if hearing people try boss them. Jesus hates, same way, when church leaders try boss people in church. Why? Because if people follow church leaders then people never learn to pay attention to Holy Spirit.

In Matthew 23, Jesus very, very angry with Pharisees and men who teach law to Jews. Why? Two reasons: 1) they make up more and more rules and tell people they must obey. 2) they do not follow God's rules and not follow their own rules. They are hypocrites.

Many church leaders today same. They maybe 'nicolaitians.' Maybe this is meaning. Interesting -- end every letter to churches in Revelation, Jesus says, "He who has ear, let him hear what Spirit says to churches." This does not mean only hearing people. Meaning: pay attention to 🕊 Holy Spirit. When men make rules for other men, happen, no one pays attention to Holy Spirit.

2. Other meaning for 'Nicolaitians' -- they maybe group in church who try to combine pagan beliefs and Christian beliefs. They hear they are 'free in Christ,' so they think meaning they can sin. This is traditional belief about "Nicolaitians."

Maybe both meanings true?    When some leaders boss other people, make more rules, then leaders begin to have group follow them, not follow Holy Spirit. If leaders tell followers they are free to sin because Christ makes them free, then leaders are leading to sin, not leading to God. Easy to understand Christ very angry with them.

But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate. -- Revelation 2:6
So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate. --  Revelation 2:15

Agelbert NOTE About Jesus Christ's Homo SAP physical appearance: Yes, we Homo SAPS tend to picture our God(s) in the most hyped and glorified appearance possible according to our own provincial, narrow, racist, 'take care o' yer own' (and so on) prejudices.

BUT, the Judeo Christian Bible, according to the prophet Isaiah, stated that Jesus Christ was UGLY, as well as POOR and not particularly popular either.
Quote
Isaiah 53:2
He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.

No one really has a literal view of Scripture, no matter where on the spectrum one falls, every interpretation must allow for figurative language. But in the above case, I believe the only interpretation that is logical is the literal one. Of course ;), the fact that Jesus Christ did not show up for centuries after Isaiah's prophecies is an excuse (rather tawdry, but they'll use it anyway ) to claim that God did NOT reveal the future to Isaiah because, uh, God doesn't exist and Isaiah was smokin' some great stuff! .

Yes, that passage has been interpreted (wrongly, I think  :() as a reference to what Jesus Christ looked like when he was being punched, whipped, poked and beaten to a pulp. I disagree. The prophetic link of that passage to the crucifixion does NOT justify claiming the Lamb of God (i.e. a  perfect PHYSICALLY unblemished and SPIRITUALLY sinless specimen of Homo SAPdom) looked like Michelangelo's handsome side kick.

I believe that the Shroud of Turin is an extremely accurate representation of Jesus Christ (i.e. a run of the mill Jew). There was nothing special in Jesus Christ's appearance.

Golgotha Location – The Place of the Skull

The Gospel texts identify the location where the Romans carried out crucifixions as Golgotha – which, in Latin, translates as, “Calvary.” In Aramaic, Golgotha means the “place of the skull.”

The location for Golgotha was identified in ancient writings as a hill resembling a skullcap -- the top of a skull -- rather than the face of a skull. Additionally, all four Gospels refer to the hill using the Greek word “kranion,” meaning cranium or upper part of the skull. Therefore, it was probably a rounded hill. The mistaken understanding of the place referring to the face of a skull has lead to misidentifications over the centuries.

According to the Gospels, the Golgotha location was near the city, but outside the city walls, outside “the gate.” It was a location that was accessible to people walking by on a road, and it could be seen from far away. The traditional location of Golgotha and the crucifixion of Jesus was established when Helena of Constantinople came to Jerusalem in the 4th century AD and stated that the crucifixion had occurred on a specific hill, which was supposedly “about a stone’s throw” from where the tomb of Jesus was situated.

Today, this site is known as the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, which was built over Jesus’ tomb, and eventually the complex was expanded to include the traditional Golgotha location.

Nope. Not a syllable. In that regard he reminds me of Stalin, who, when informed that the Pope has expressed displeasure at a military move, replied, "And how many divisions does the Pope command?"

Nope. Not a syllable. In that regard he reminds me of Stalin, who, when informed that the Pope has expressed displeasure at a military move, replied, "And how many divisions does the Pope command?"

Stalin's ideology is a nearly perfect fit with Trump's ideology, in that both of them worshipped at the altar of "might equals right".

But then, that is the 😈 altar most people on Earth worship at, regardless of the lip service to a deity given by assorted religious leaders and their, mostly pharisaic, followers.

So, Trump is certainly not an outlier in being a functional atheist. Most people in the USA believe that money isn't everything, but it is way ahead of whatever is in second place. That is the spiritually depraved norm here and that is the norm in the human species. The deliberately unethical wanton destruction caused by every successful empire with several divisions at their command throughout history evidences that.

Psychologists have determined, from repeated scientific studies, that humans are "wired" for empathy. This trait produces socially beneficial behavior such as altruism.

Empathy is the basis of ethical behavior. Ethical behavior tempers the "money is numero uno" greed reflex common to the human species. All these conclusions by social science academia deny the existence of evil as a spiritual force in human affairs. The concept of "evil" (i.e. invisible demonic spirit entities destructively influencing human behavior) is relegated to the realm of superstition, irrelevant to the "reality" of the materialist atheistic world view that "the human body is exclusively an organic machine that evolved from random BENEFICIAL mutations that gave the species enough evolutionary advantages to DOMINATE (SEE: Might equals RIGHT) all other earthly species". What's wrong with this picture? Plenty.

The very same psychologists that believe humans became "apex predators" through successful DOMINATION (i.e killing off or taming) of all competing life forms, believe the exception to the "rule" that humans are "wired" for empathy are the sociopaths and psychopaths. Cruel Predators like Stalin, Trump and Hitler are three examples of humans apparently not "wired for empathy". Yet, as the quote you gave from Stalin irrefutably evidences, Trump is a nearly perfect example of a person totally motivated by the quest for successful DOMINATION (i.e killing off or taming) of all competing life forms through FORCE. An objective evolutionary biologist would have to admit that, not only is Trump's mens rea modus operandi murderous belligerence a "successful evolutionary strategy", but the fact that fraud (SEE: trap door spiders that catch unwary insects, snakes with tails that look like a spider in order to catch eagles when they get too close, etc.) is cleverly interwoven into his force and fraud MO augments his "evolutionary advantages".

If it weren't for the "pesky" fact the "business as usual" climate trashing behavior embraced by Trump, Wall Street and nearly 100% of the profit over planet oligarchs, hell bent on doubling down on the biosphere trashing course that served their short term sociopathic greed based pecuniary interests so well, evolutionary biologists would be forced to conclude that the MO of Trump could not be viewed as anything but that of a "successful apex predator".

THAT is the conundrum that those who continue to cling to the "humans are an organic machine" world view are faced with.

These overeducated scientists, rather than admit that biochemistry is not sufficent to explain species endangering human behavior, and that something not scientifically measurable is causing apparently rational "evolutionarily successful apex predator" humans (i.e. Trump, the 1%, Wall Steet, Capitalists, etc.) to irrationally doom the human species by their thoroughly flawed "might equals right" world view, they resort to the Darwinian claim that if we shoot ouselves in the biosphere foot (and head), we don't "deserve" to exist.

IOW, these "rational" 🙈🙉🙊 scientists, in the face of all the irrationally destructive behavior by TPTB, as evidenced by Trump, flat refuse to recognize even the possibility that EVIL spirits, hell bent on destroying God's created beings in rebellion to the Creator God, are concentrating their corrupting actvities on the leaders of human society.

There is ZERO genetic evidence that there are a greater percentage of BORN sociopaths among the rich and influential humans in our doomed civilization than in the population as a whole. Yet, the "wired" for empathy tests evidence that the overwhelming majority of humans are NOT greedy to the point of enthusiastic support for climate trashing profit over planet. The only logical conclusion that a truly objective social scientist could reach from this genetic evidence is that SOMETHING or SOMEBODY targets targets anyone that makes it into TPTB far more than any other segment of the human species.

IOW, these scientists, watching the biosphere be delibrately destroyed by a tiny sliver of humanity known as TPTB, refuse to accept that evil spirits are at work corrupting TPTB because it makes a mockery of their Darwinian "Might Equals Right" flawed world view. "Nothing to see here, move along. Trump is nuts to want to destroy the biosphere for profit but it's just the way an apex predator is... Trump, like Stalin and Hitler, has all those military divisions to prove he is an evolutionary success... Might iequals right... Darwin said so, so it must be so..."

The Lord's Prayer In A Pandemic
« Reply #70 on: March 26, 2020, 05:57:16 pm »
The Lord's Prayer In A Pandemic

Jim Wallis

The Lord’s Prayer, which Jesus told his disciples to regularly pray, is the most common prayer offered in our churches today. We recognize these words when we hear them in our houses of worship and pray them in our own households, with our families, and privately in our hearts. Many of our traditions include The Lord’s Prayer each Sunday, and it is likely being repeated more and more often during the COVID-19 pandemic, even as congregations meet virtually.

As President Trump has said he’d like to see “packed churches all over our country” on Easter Sunday to help him reopen the country and restart the economy, which he apparently thinks will help him get re-elected, we need the words of the Lord’s Prayer more than ever. The call to reopen comes despite the exact opposite instructions from health care professionals, along with governors and mayors across our nation, to maintain our social distance and closures until the dangers of this modern plague are past us. Trump’s reckless invitation to take our worship and prayers back into our churches before it is safe to do so is not only monstrous political irresponsibility, but religious sacrilege.

I predict that legions of pastors, priests, and lay church leaders will ultimately ignore 🦀 Trump’s alarming advice, instead continuing to take their faith and worship virtual for the sake of healing the nation. Sojourners supports you in publicly saying “no” to Trump’s dangerous call — we've been collecting resources and guides to help you and your congregations gather safely. And we’ll be offering more opportunities to reach out to each other and speak out against reckless leadership in the coming days.
