Ya know, I look at al this "strategy" the Trump Wrecking Crew is engaging in and cannot help but come to the conclusion that they are still sticking to the old "keep the masses scared to death" trick so the MIC in general, and the polluters in particular, can keep the welfare queen profit gravy train going. All this sabre rattling is the only thing keeping the price of OIL from tanking. They always do that. It's such an old, dog eared line of profit over people and planet BULLSHIT, that you'd think most people had caught on to this fascist fraud by now.

It would be pathetic if this institutionalized, greed based, empathy deficit disordered government skullduggery was not dooming most high order vertebrate species, including Homo sapiens, to slow cooking extinction.

Obi Wan understands and laments it:

You forget that you are immersed in this stuff and very knowledgable. Most people aren't even aware that there is a problem; and even ion there is, it doesn't affect them because, hey, I don't drill for oil!

  Great News Roundup!

So true about Puerto Rico. Besides Trump's inbred anymosity to Puerto Ricans, ever since the Puerto Rican Government told him to stuff it on some golf course he wanted some money for down there, he has been out to 'git' them. Trump is a petty, vengeful, psychopath crook with illusions of grandeur. He is his own worse enemy.

I think his heinous actions against Puerto Ricans will backfire, but not for ethical reasons. Let me explain. The Puerto Rican Government power stucture is Bankster Corrupt to the core.

Those Fascists are joined at the triple tax free bond hip with their Bankster pals in New York. Just like Trump and his Daddy's criminal MO in New York as a real estate developer, the elite parasites in Puerto Rico shaft average Puerto Ricans by grabbing a significant portion of the money coming from the Federal Government through sweetheart government contracts to build schools, bridges or whatever, at a cost FAR above actual cost. The corruption down there, like in New York city, is horrendous. A hurricane just makes things more predatory, not more compassionate and humane.

As Naomi Klein pointed out in her Disaster Capitalism book, and later on specifically in regard to Hurricane Maria infrastructure repair money for Puerto Rico, the Fascsit/Capitalist Elite Parasites see disasters as an opportunity to steal MORE government money, not help fellow citizens.

IOW, elite parasites everywhere are all part of the human tick family that Trump belongs to. However, when some Puerto Rican ticks with lots of money and connections in New York get stiffed by the Trump Tick, they can make quite a bit of voting trouble IN FLORIDA AND ILLINOIS AND TEXAS AND CALFORNIA for the Trump Tick.

There's more, but my point is that Trump is damaging his political career by not playing ball with the Bankster Ticks in Puerto Rico.

Yes, Puerto Rico needs that money, and badly. Yes, good, decent people, now suffering needlessly from Trump's cruelty, will benefit from it, despite Puerto Rican Fascist Banker Corruption in that Government. So, I hope Trump eventually stops ordering FEMA to drag its feet.

Nevertheless, in view of how Trump's disdain for Puerto Rico harms his public relations and political career, Trump made a VERY bad move there. Good.

Speaking of Puerto Rico, I was looking through the gallery on this forum and did a sort to see which image got the most views. To my surprise, one of the most viewed was a breakdown of Mutual Funds with exposure to Puerto Rican Bonds! 👀

So, hello to all you 🦉 Puerto Rican lurkers out there! 🌴🌞

Surly, if you a haven't done that gallery sort by image views, I recommend it. The "most viewed" images provide, IMHO, pertinent insight on forum viewer interest (e.g. they are fascinated with 🐲 Agnotology).  8)

As to the images critical of the Fossil Fuel Industry Biosphere Trashing Business Model that no longer show for some, uh, strange (Hydrocarbon 😈 Hellspawn 🦍 HACKER) reason, I'm workin' on dat.

Trump's actions vis a vis PR have seemed motivated by an unusual personal animus that goes beyond simple racism. Thanks for shedding some light on root causes. None of which will ever get play in the MSM.

Put doesn't even recognize Puerto Ricans as Americans, let alone human beings, an attitude which suits his Uncle Cracker constituency just fine.

For those readers who do not know the background of Surly, the man who provides the comprehensive daily news coverage here, he is a walking multi-volume source of accurate American History and Politics. He can discuss virtually any subject with considerable erudition and has far more patience than I do when engaging confrontational posters.

So, for those reading this that don't want to talk to me, feel free to register and comment on Surly's posts. He will respect your arguments, even if he disagrees with them. IMHO, you need to bring a very large sandwich if you plan to win a debate with him, but I am sure you will be the better for it if you DO engage him.

You embarrass me, AG, but thank you for the kind words.
